While planning for my first child in 2011, I did not know much about a doula or really, birth in general. My daughter was born in September 2011 via cesarean. After her birth, I was determined that I would do things differently the next time around. I quickly joined ICAN (International Cesarean Network), researched VBAC options, midwives, doulas, and learned everything I could about birth! In August 2013, my son was born at home in a Hypnobabies VBAC, with the wonderful support of midwives and a doula. This day changed my life and brought me further into the birth community. In November of 2013, I attended my first birth as a doula. It was a beautiful and empowering VBAC! I went on to train with DONA in January 2014. I have been attending births ever since!
I am certified by DONA International, Trained Hypnobabies® Hypno-Doula (HCHD), and Spinning Babies. I am proud to be a board member of ICAN (International Cesarean Awareness Network) of the Twin Cities, a coordinator for the Twin Cities Birth and Baby Expo, and a member of The Childbirth Collective. I reside in Lake Elmo with my husband, daughter, and son. I attend all types of births at all Twin Cities hospitals, birth centers, and at home.
